We are getting ready for a couple of hot upcoming weeks here in the Valley with temps set to reach into the 100s. Make your Independence Day plans (see below for a list of activities in Napa and Sonoma over the holiday) and include a pool if possible! And definitely be sure to take your walks early and enjoy a later evening al fresco dinner. We love those warm nights.

These past few weeks have been quite a whirlwind! We had an incredible weekend at Ojai Valley Inn over Memorial Day weekend - what a gorgeous property. Then this past weekend we attended the Napa Valley Auction - the barrel auction at Hall Winery, followed by an epic dinner at Kenzo Estate on Friday night, and the big event on Saturday evening at Far Niente Winery in Oakville.

May is one of our favorite months here in the Napa Valley. The weather is absolute perfection with cool mornings and evenings and a few gloriously warm hours peppered in during the middle of the day. Long lunches with friends, even longer walks, not-too-hot-yet soccer games, and the beginning of our local bocce season are all upon us... and we could not be happier.

The weather has turned and we are experiencing the most glorious spring! Due to all the recent precipitation, everything is absolutely gorgeous with vibrant green, yellow, pink and orange hues at every corner of our beautiful valley. With spring break in full swing, we are excited for relaxing days enjoying long walks, good food, crisp glasses of wine on the patio, and hopefully some time with friends and family.

Spring is trying to peek its way into the forecast, tempting us with some gorgeous sunny days these past few weeks. But Mother Nature has made it clear that the rainy season is not over yet! We just experienced another significant rain storm over the past several days, which we absolutely loved, and know that this much needed precipitation will only make our valley more beautiful as we move into the sunnier weather. In fact, building on last winter's big rains, Lake Berryessa is now over 95% full and within about three feet of its maximum height!

What a gorgeous time this past month has been here in the Napa Valley! We have been getting quite a bit of rain, and as seen in the photo above, many of the vineyards are currently flooded (luckily no harm to the vineyards). But it won't last long...we have sun in the forecast early next week! For now, we are snuggling up and watching the rain fall. Everything is absolutely lush and green and beautiful. We have really needed this precipitation and welcome it!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and break! We had family and friends in town and it was magical. We stayed home & made a huge Thanksgiving dinner and enjoyed every moment. Every year, I try to take some time to reflect on what's most important and there is one thing that I always find myself feeling the most grateful for - the people in my life. My friends and family are what make my life as wonderful as it is.

Welcome to November in the Napa Valley and our absolute favorite month to live here in this gorgeous place. The weather is sheer perfection with cool, crisp evenings and foggy mornings (the best type of morning in our opinion), with the fog quickly burning off and the sun warming everything to somewhere in the mid to high 70s by mid-day. Basically a dream world where the leaves are still on the vines and trees, and quickly turning gorgeous, vibrant hues of orange, red, purple and yellow. It's truly magical.

It's been the same story every single year since we moved to this beautiful valley in 2007... autumn rolls around, the leaves start to change color from green to vibrant hues of orange, yellow and crimson, the air begins to crisp, the vines bow with the added weight of plump purple grapes, and we always wonder how we ever got so lucky to call this magical valley our home.
